AndyMark’s line of Standard Sensors is designed specifically for FRC and FTC teams. Using standard 1.5” pitch mounting holes, the sensor’s small footprint fits nicely on a 1” wide tube. Easily swap out sensors using I2C or CAN communication, and head into matches worry-free with locking connectors.
Product Documentation can be found here.
Longer lengths of cable can be found here.
When to use this sensor
- Accurate distance measurement to objects up to 3ft (I2C) or 13ft (CAN) away.
- Positioning or alignment tasks where reliable range feedback is needed.
- Detecting approach or presence with more range than a proximity-only sensor.
- Applications that need consistent readings under different lighting conditions.
Typical integrations
- Position an intake or arm relative to a target object.
- Detect when a game piece is within a shooter or feeder.
- Maintain consistent spacing in autonomous driving.
- Monitor travel distance of moving mechanisms in real time.
-
- Communication Protocol: I2C, CAN
- Default I2C Address: 0
- Dimensions: 2.00 in. x .745 in. x .51 in.
- FOV: ~25°
- Max Bus Speed: 400 kHz (Fast mode)
- Max Input Voltage: 16 V
- Maximum Range (CAN): ~4000 mm
- Maximum Range (I2C): ~2000 mm
- Measurement Channels: Distance
- Minimum Range: ~30 mm
- Mounting Holes: #10 holes, 1.5 in. apart
- Nominal Voltage: 3.3 V
