The Story

These inserts can be used to create a connection point in a 3D printed or plastic object.

  • Description
  • Need to use a 3D printed part on your hex, keyed or Kraken shaft, but the bore keeps rounding out? Well, here’s your solution - 3D Print Bore Inserts. Simply design a tight press fit into your 3D printed part, press the insert in, and let the print retain the insert. Now your 3D printed part has a nice metal surface to react to the drive shaft with, allowing you to drive that 3D printed part for thousands of cycles. These parts have a boss around the bore on one side allowing you to put them directly on a bearing race and not rub. They are designed to be used in pairs, one on either side of your part with the bosses pointing outward.

    • Bore: 0.375 in. [9.5 mm] (3/8) Hex, 0.500 in. [12.7 mm] (1/2) Hex, 0.313 in. [8 mm] (5/16) Round, Kraken Spline
    • Material: Aluminum
